# Add topic partitions

**PATCH /v1/topics-partitions**

Add partitions to existing topics. Depending on the partitioning strategy used, this may impact ordering guarantees.

- **partition_count** (integer(int32))
  The number of partitions to add for the topics.
- **topic_names** (array[string])
  The topic names.
- **validate_only** (boolean)
  Validate the request only, do not execute it.
